Set during the kaleidoscopic backdrop of the kite-flying festival in India, ‘Amdavad Ma Famous’, witnesses the transformation of an 11-year-old Zaid from a boy next door to an aggressive and a passionate kite-runner until he comes across a hindrance that prevents him from flying kites.

The director:

Hardik Mehta is an independent filmmaker. He studied to be a Dairy Technologist. But he soon left and worked as a copywriter in advertising. He then pursued filmmaking. After completing his masters in Mass Communications at Jamia Milia Islamia in New Delhi, he shifted to Mumbai.

He has been an integral part of Phantom Films’ productions, as a script supervisor and an assistant director. His first short fiction film Skin Deep (2014) was released theatrically across India.
